Alair Encounter: HC directs govt to submit details of Viquar encounter case

The High Court here on Thursday directed the Telangana State government to submit details of Viqaruddin encounter case and postponed the case to next week.

It may be recalled that Viqaruddin and his four associates were killed in an encounter in a police van on the Warangal-Nalgonda border on April 7. After a few days, Viqaruddin’s father also filed a petition in Alair Police Station alleging that it was a fake encounter case. Buckling under criticism from various Muslim organizations and MIM party, the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao ordered a SIT probe into the case. However, Viqaruddin’s father filed a petition in the High Court on Wednesday demanding that the Court order a CBI probe into the case.

Viqaruddin’s father’s counsel urged the Court to order re-post mortem on the bodies of the five terrorists as there were 15 bullets in every body. The Court adjourned the case to next week. The State government will file a counter affidavit on April 23. (NSS)
