Alair encounter – Minority Defense Council demands CBI Probe

Reacting severely, President of Minority Defense Council, Mr. Mohammed Osman Shaheed, Advocate told that however dangerous the criminal might be, he cannot be shot dead, but Telangana police misused its powers and killed the innocent Muslims. He was addressing the inaugural function of All India Muslim Front at Ruby Garden Function Hall. He told that police alleged that Viqar Ahmed snatched the gun from a policeman and opened fire. The series of incidents suggests that Viqar Ahmed and his companions were handcuffed and it was not possible for them to snatch guns from the policeman. If Viqar Ahmed had snatched the gun from the policeman, only he should have been fired at whereas four other Muslim youths were killed.

He demanded that Govt. should investigate the incident by CBI or a sitting judge of the High Court. Highlighting the aims and objectives of the formation of All India Minorities Defense Council, Mr. Shaheed said it has been formed to provide legal assistance and guidance to affected Minorities. He appealed to the lawyers that they should do justice maintaining the sanctity of their profession.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. K. Pratap Reddy, Advocate told that the Muslims should not think alienated themselves with society. They should not feel inferiority complex. They should continue struggle for getting their legitimate rights. Criticizing the “Ghar Vapsi” program of Saffron outfits, he told that Dalits are embracing Islam vexed up with the discrimination of the Hindus since there is no discrimination in Islam. He further told that Governments are creating division among the Muslims and the Hindus for achieving their political objectives. He demanded CBI probe for Alair encounter through a sitting of the High Court.

Justice E. Ismail, former judge and former member of Human Rights Commission alleged that instead of registering a criminal case against the erring police officials, Govt. constituted Special Investigating Team. He also demanded the Govt. of Telangana to get the investigation done though CBI or a sitting Judge the of High Court so that the police officers who killed the innocent under trial prisoners should be punished. He applauded the formation of All India Minorities Defense Council.

Mr. Rafatullah, Advocate told that there is no law in police for encounter. This encounter is nothing but killing. He supported the demand for CBI probe. Mr. H.K. Nizamuddin stressed the need for the Muslims to get united. Mr. Mohammme Alauddin Ansari, Advocate, Social Activist, Prof. Rama Melkote and others addressed he gathering. Mr. Ghulam Mohammed conducted the meeting.
