Al Wahda bridge set to open today

Dubai, May 01: Al Wahda bridge, part of Al Wahda street improvement project, is set to open for motorists on Saturday. This is expected to ease traffic in the area.

The overall cost of Al Wahda street improvement project is Dh841 million, which includes the intersection at Shaikh Humaid bin Saqr.

“The Department’s strategy is clear in the development of road network in the emirate, where we seek to relieve traffic congestion on the internal and external roads and ensure easier movement,” said Shaikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Director of the Department of Public Works.

“The Al Wahda bridge will provide free movement of traffic from the Dhaid Road (Airport Road) and the Shaikh Humaid bin Saqr intersection to Al Wahda street and Dubai,” he said.
