‘Al-Qaeda will recover & strike back’

London, May 03: Experts at King’s College London have said that al-Qaeda will definitely “recover and strike back” after the US forces killed Osama bin Laden in Pakistan.

UK experts from Centre of Defense Studies (CDS) have warned that the terrorists connected to al-Qaeda would try to retaliate against the US.

The director of the CDS, John Gearson, said, “I think the significance of what has happened cannot really be overstated. I would expect embassies and military bases around the world to be on high alert for some time.”

The former commander of Britain’s forces in Afghanistan in 2003 has insisted that the Taliban members might now consider Ayman al Zawahiri, bin Laden’s deputy, as the new leader of the al-Qaeda.

“I think this is not the end of al-Qaeda by any means,” he said.

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has expressed his gratitude to President Barack Obama and the US ground forces based in Pakistan for killing the world’s most wanted terrorist.

“Those who commit acts of terror against the innocent will be brought to justice, however long it takes,” he said in a statement.
