Uttar Pradesh: After receiving threat from Al-Qaeda, security has been beefed up around Taj Mahal. Officials said that Al-Qaeda on Thursday threatened to attack world heritage sites, after which security has been beefed up at heritage sites located in India which include Taj Mahal.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel and Special Forces have been asked to tighten their surveillance. Intelligence agencies like Intelligence Bureau (IB) are also on high alert and asked security personnel to be in contact with them.
CISF Commandant, Sudhir Kumar said that all steps for the security of the monuments are taken. He also added that checking at the entrance has been tightened and officers are keeping close watch on CCTVs.
