Hyderabad:Â Director of Enforcement of State Excise Dept., Mr. Akun Sabharwal, IPS has become a role model for the youngsters overnight. Filmy heroes show their talents only for 3 hours but Mr. Akun Sabharwal has been exhibiting courage, honesty and bravery in real life situations.
He has declared war against drug mafia these days. He did not compromise for interrogating film Director, Puri Jagannath, heroes; Tarun, Subbaraju and Navdeep. Through his duty conscious behavior, he has proved that in the eyes of law, everyone is equal. He has also sent a message that the culprits will not go unpunished.
He is the son of the dental surgeon who served the army. He joined Civil Service in 2001. During the training, he married his batch mate, Ms. Smita who was selected for IAS. His first posting was in Assam where he waged a war against extremists. After this, he was posted at Anantapur. He started taking action against those who were indulged in sectarian clashes. So long as he was in Anantapur, not a single incident of violence took place. As OSD, he opened a war front against the Naxalites in Warangal. In Vishakhapatnam, as SP, he faced the firing of the Naxalites 28 times which shows that he is the man not to run away from the field. In Hyderabad, he worked as DSP. Mr. KCR trusted this couple and entrusted important responsibilities to them. His wife, Ms. Smita Sabharwal is working as Addl. Secretary in Chief Minister’s office.
