Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today inaugurated the maiden ‘UP NRI-Day’ conclave here, being attended by hundreds of NRIs, originally from the state.
The three-day conclave, being organised with support ofFICCI at a private hotel here, aims to woo NRIs to invest in the state and enable themcontribute in its development.
Inaugurating the conclave Akhilesh painted a optimistic picture of the state saying UP is endowed with natural and human resources and has unlimited growth potential.
Among the positives, the CM Counted the metro project in Lucknow, Agra-Lucknow expressway, high-tech city in Unnao, international cricket stadium at Lucknow, development of road network in the state, fly-overs and other infrastructure projects.
He said infrastructure projects were being promoted and power generation being increased significantly in order to give a boost to industrial expansion.
The Chief Minister said investments would accelerate the pace of development.
He also informed the gathering that a cluster was being developed in Kannauj in order to promote perfume industry.
Yadav said tourism policies has been reviewed and a number of projects launched to promote it, which also provides jobs.
He also spoke about the Agra-Varanasi-Lucknow heritage arc developed in the state.
Akhilesh said his government was taking care of under privileged people, minorities, poor and backward adding women empowerment schemes and Samajwadi Pension scheme have proved effective.
He listed several other welfare schemes being implemented in the state for women and students.
