Akhilesh Govt. not serious in resolving UP’s electricity crisis: Piyush Goyal

Baghpat [India]: Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal hit out at the Uttar Pradesh government today, saying that it is not serious in its resolve to fix the electricity problem.

Addressing a programme organised under Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhayay Gram Jyoti Yojna, he said that the Centre is ready to provide two rupees per unit electricity to Uttar Pradesh but the state government is not ready to buy it.

He further said that the state government is pretending to have an abundance of electricity in the state and does not buy cheap electricity.

He also criticised the state government saying that Centre ready to help to improve the power scenario in the state but the current political dispensation is least interested to cooperate.

“We have ‘Power for All’ policy, wherein only UP and Tamil Nadu governments could not connect with it otherwise the whole nation has been benefitted by it,” he said.

Goyal on this occasion dedicated various programs of 150 crore Rupees tune under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojna. (ANI)
