Lucknow, Ocr. 29 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday dropped eight ministers from his cabinet and took away the portfolios of nine ministers ahead of the proposed cabinet reshuffle on October 31.
On the recommendation of the Chief Minister, Governor Ram Naik removed the eight ministers, including five cabinet ministers and three ministers of state.
The five sacked cabinet ministers are Raja Mahendra Aridaman Singh, Ambika Chaudhary, Shiv Kumar Beria, Narad Rai and Shivakant Ojha, while the three ministers of state are Alok Kumar Shakya, Yogesh Pratap Singh and Bhagwat Sharan Gangwar.
The nine ministers whose portfolios were taken away are Ahmad Hasan, Awadhesh Prasad, Paras Nath Yadav, Ram Govind Chaudhary, Durga Prasad Yadav, Brahma Shankar Tripathi, Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya, Iqbal Mehmood and Mahboob Ali.
The Governor allocated the portfolios of the removed ministers to the Chief Minister.
The new ministers are expected to be sworn in by the Governor on October 31. (ANI)
