Akbaruddin Owaisi Attack Case hearing: Gunman fired three rounds in two minutes

Hyderabad: During the interrogation of with the retired Sub-Inspector of Chandrayangutta Police Station, Mr. Ramulu, the defense counsel asked him several questions. In his statement, Mr. Ramulu told that he was on duty in 30th April 2011. He reached the spot to provide security to the MLA. During the program some persons attacked Mr. Owaisi. Mohammed Jani, Gunman of Malakpet MLA, Ahmed bin Abdullah Balala opened fire and hit the chest of T-Shirt clad youth Ibrahim bin Younus Yafai. Mr. Ramulu further told that during the attack, he was at a distance of 15 ft. He made an attempt to the affected persons but the number of attackers was more and hence he was unsuccessful. He did not resort to Lathi Charge since he had no Lathis. He informed that the incident of attack took place within 6-8 minutes. The gunman of Balala opened three rounds of fire within 2 minutes. The Sub-Inspector told that he did not seized the gunman’s pistol. He also told that he did not have service revolver during the attack. He informed that in such situations, he should have resorted to lathi charge to eradicate violence. He mentioned that he was suspended declaring him responsible for this incident. Gunman also opened fire on Abdullah bin Younus Yafai. He pleaded ignorance of any heated arguments and conflict between Akbaruddin Owaisi and Ibrahim bin Younus Yafai. Defense Counsels, Mr. Achuta Reddy and Mr. Raj Vardhan Reddy, Advocates interrogated the Sub-Inspector. The interrogation will continue today also. Mohammed bin Omer Yafai alias Mohammed Pahelwan was brought to the court from Cherlapally Jail for hearing this case.
