The Andhra Pradesh High Court has dismissed a petition filed by an advocate JVN Rama Rao pleading with the Court to order removal of MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi’s hate speech from YouTube.
The High Court bench comprising Justice Sanjay Kumar and Justice L Narasimha Reddy made it clear that the Court would not interfere with freedom of expression of others. The Court also made it clear that the petitioner can approach the YouTube office at New York directly.
The bench observed that some people would be happy while hearing the speech of Akbaruddin and some others would get enraged over such sensitive issue. The bench stated that all these things would come under freedom of expression only. The bench also questioned the petitioner what was wrong with the telecast of such speeches. The bench made it clear that it would not interfere at this juncture and dismissed the petition.
