Nearly 40 days after he was arrested in a hate speech case, MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi walked out of jail on Saturday. After he was granted bail by Adilabad and Nizamabad courts MIM legislator was released from district jail in Adilabad, at 5:10 on Saturday evening. Traveling about 300 km in his bullet-proof vehicle amidst tight police security, Akbar reached his residence at Banjara Hills Hyderabad at 11:30 pm.
Akbar Owaisi wore a new look when he stepped out of jail. Contrary to his usual clean shave look, he donned a complete new look wearing long and thick moustache. After reaching his residence Akbar Owaisi met his family members and MIM leaders.
A member of the assembly from Chandrayangutta in Hyderabad, Owaisi is facing charges of sedition, waging war against the nation and promoting enmity between people. He is the younger brother of MIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi. Akbar was arrested by Nirmal police on Jan 8 from Gandhi hospital in a hate speech case booked against him in Nirmal town on Jan 3 and was shifted to Adilabad district jail. A separate case was also booked in Nizamabad and he was produced before Nizamabad magistrate.
Courts in Adilabad and Nizamabad had Friday granted conditional bail to the MIM leader. He was asked to surrender his passport to the concerned court in Nirmal town.
