Akbar owaisi & Jana reddy stage walkout on note ban answer

Leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy and MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi today walked out of the Assembly as they were dissatisfied with the answer given by Finance Minister Eatala Rajender to their queries related to note ban implications, reduction in income, downfall in State revenue, scholarship and fees reimbursement, Asara pensions and other welfare schemes.

During the Question Hour, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi slammed the Centre for note ban decision and its adverse impact on the State exchequer. The note ban resulted in the loss of Rs 3000 crore to the State and the government was not giving details, he charged.

Though Eatala Rajender said there was no fall in the State revenues and funds for scholarships were being released, a dissatisfied MIM leader slammed the government for not releasing funds to Minorities during 2016-17. He later staged a walkout as there was confusion in the reply of the Finance Minister. Leader of the Opposition Jana Reddy too followed suit as the Finance Minister could not give a convincing reply on the State revenues in the wake of demonetization and failure to release funds to welfare schemes.

Earlier, the minister informed that there was 22 per cent rise in revenue, Stamps & Registration revenue was put at 56 per cent, Rs 4086 crore paid for crop loan waiver and 13 per cent in revenue receipts. Admitting that demonetization affected the State revenues, the minister claimed that the government was spending huge funds for welfare schemes, including Kalyana Lakhsmi, Shadi Mubarak, fine rice to hostels, pensions and other schemes.
