Akbar Owaisi given into five day police custody

A local court in Nirmal today given MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi into five-day police custody.

Akbar’s lawyer Balraj objected the contention of Nirmal police which sought Akbar’s custody for further investigation.

He argued that the speech was made in a public meeting and therefore, police custody for the MIM MLA was not required.

However the Investigating officer and the Inspector Nirmal Rural Police station K Raghu said before the court that the case is sensitive and needs further investigation. The police pleaded for seven day police custody but the court granted only five day police custody.

While granting five day custody the Magistrate directed the police interrogate the legislator in the presence of Advocates and daily medical check up shall be done.
