MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi did not get any relief from courts in different cases that he is facing.
A Nizambad court on Wednesday sent MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi to police custody for two days in the the alleged hate speech case. The court allowed police to question Akbaruddin Owaisi for two days on Februay 1 and 2.
Akbaruddin Owaisi, who is currently lodged in Adilabad Jail in the hate speech case registered in Nirmal, will now face questioning by the Nizambad police. Earlier on January 24, the Nizamabad court had sent him to judicial custody till February 7 for delivering an alleged hate speech in the town December 8.
Akbaruddin Owaisi was arrested in Hyderabad on January 8 by the Nirmal police for allegedly making a hate speech at a public meeting at Nirmal town in Adilabad district on December 22.
On the other side, the Sangareddy court on Wednesday rejected Akbaruddin Owaisi’s bail petition in a case of 2005 of alleged assault on the then District Collector.
A case was registered on MIM leaders when they allegedly abused the then District Collector AK Singhal during a protest against the demolition of a mosque at Matangi in Patencheru mandal of Medak District in April 2005.
While MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi was made the Accused No 1, Akbaruddin Owaisi was named Accused No 2 in the case. The MIM president, who surrendered before the court on January 21 and sent to judicial remand, was granted bail on January 24.
Akbaruddin Owaisi was produced before the Sangareddy court on January 17 and he was produced again on Monday. A day later, First Class Magistrate Excise and Prohibition Court Maruti Devi heard the bail petition and reserved the judgment for Wednesday wherein she rejected his bail petition. (INN)
