New Delhi: In continuation of India’s flurry of engagements with Gulf and Middle East nations, Minister of State for External Affairs M.J. Akbar met Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif in Tehran on Sunday.
“Continuing engagement with a valuable partner. MoS @mjakbar visits Iran, meets Foreign Minister @Jzarif,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.
Akbar last month visited Lebanon and conflict-hit Syria and Iraq.
V.K. Singh, the other Minister of State for External Affairs, also visited Qatar and Kuwait earlier this month.
He had also visited Saudi Arabia across July and August in connection with retrenchment of Indian workers by companies there.
