Akbar Made To Read Newspaper For Voice Record

AIMIM leader and Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi arrested for his hate speech was made to read a newspaper in the presence of a judge to record his voice.

It may be mentioned here that Akbaruddin, facing hate speech cases in Adilabad, Nizamabad and several other places, was brought from the Adilabad district jail amidst tight security and produced before the court here.

Police collected his voice samples as he denied that the voice in the hate speech was his. Police gave Akbar an Urdu script and made him to read it in the presence of the trial judge. The judge also made him to read a newspaper and completed the process in six minutes. The voice sample and the CD of the hate speech would be sent to forensic lab in Chandigarh for comparison.

Meanwhile, as Akbar’s remand ended on Tuesday, it was extended till February 26.

The court also admitted the bail petition filed by Akbar’s lawyers. After the procedures, Akbar was taken back to the Adilabad sub-jail.

It may be mentioned that when Akbar was brought for voice test, his voice sounded different. Police suspected he was deliberately changing his voice. Akbar, however, said his voice was affected as he was unwell.

Police then gave time to recover, so as to record his voice. (NSS)
