The Telangana Government on Friday extended the term of Mohd Jalaluddin Akber as the Special Officer of the State Wakf Board for a further period of six months from February 8.
Akber, who was serving as the Director of Minorities Welfare Department, was appointed as the Wakf Board Special Officer on August 8, 2014, as the reconstitution of the Wakf Board was not possible in view of pendency proposal of bifurcation of the Board. Since his six-month term was coming to end on February 7, the State Government extended his services for another six months or till the Wakf Board is reconstituted, whichever is earlier. (INN)
