MIM legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi on Tuesday got emotional in the Assembly lobbies on farmers suicides by getting nostalgic on murder attempt made on him and how suicide, death or end of life throws a family into an irreparable loss. “Ending life by farmers or any others is very painful”, he said recalling how he could survive back after seeing death when he was hospitalized.
“My children were crying and my wife was weeping when I was on the bed and I know the value of a life. Such conditions should not prevail in the State which should resolve the suicides issue”, he averred. He was furious against the ruling party members for laughing at him when he said he would speak on suicides for 15 minutes. Akbar sought to know how they ridicule on such a serious issue instead of coming up with a solution.
Interacting with mediapersons at Assembly Lobbies, Akbar took exception to IT Minister and son of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, K Taraka Ramarao, for directing him to do something which is job of Speaker. He was also surprised over Agriculture Minister P Srinivas Reddy’s statement that there was normal rainfall in some districts and expressed satisfaction on crops sown which was wrong. “If Telangana is the rich State as cited by K Chandrasekhar Rao, why the Chief Minister’s farm house was only getting rains and farmers elsewhere were ending their lives for want of rains?, he asked.
