The state government has approached the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of bail granted to Mohammed Bin Omer Yafai alias Mohammed Pahelwan and eight others allegedly involved in the attack on MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi.
According to sources the final argument in this case would take place before the double bench comprising Justice B S Chauhan and Justice A Kheir today. On April 30 last year the prime accused Mohammed Pahelwan and his family members allegedly carried out an attack on Akbaruddin Owaisi in the Barkas area.
The sleuths of Central Crime Station have arrested Mohammed Pahelwan and his twelve family members and for four months they were detained in Cherlapally jail.
In September 2011 the state high court granted bail to the accused. In the appeal the government contended before the apex court that the accused would influence the witnesses in the case.
The Counsel for the accused Mohammed Muzaffarullah Khan has already reached New Delhi to argue in the matter which is posted for today.
The persons whose bail was sought to be cancelled include Mohammed Pahelwan, Hasan Bin Omer yafai, Esa Bin Younus Yafai, Yahiya Bin Younus Yafai, Faisal Bin Ahmed, Fazal Bin Ahmed, Younus Bin Omer Yafai, Bahadur Ali Khan alias Munawar Iqbal and Awad Bin Younus Yafai.
