Washington: With the coming of BJP into power, the right-wing organisations become assertive in India. This is reflected in the violence against religious minorities, especially Muslims, in India. Many incidents which happened in the past three and a half years indicated the erosion of religious freedom in India.
Ajit Sahi, a human rights activist and investigative journalist said that “Modi’s BJP Party is director and producer of Human Rights Violation in India”.
According to an article published in wbez.org, at the hearing titled ‘Challenges & Opportunities: The Advancement of Human Rights in India,’ Ajit Sahi testified on the status of civil and human rights violations in India. He said that “persecution by both State and non-state actors [has targeted] dissidents, whistleblowers…activists, Non-Hindus, including Christians…Sikhs…Muslims [and the] lower rungs of the caste-ridden Hindu society, especially Dalits [and] indigenous tribal people.”
