All India Students’ Federation is organizing a grand meeting in Hyderabd on 21st April to demand the Govt. to protest women against atrocities. The poster of this meeting was released yesterday at CPI’s headquarters at Makhdoom Bhavan, in Himayathnagar.
President of AISF, Mr. Sambhashiva Rao, Mr. Kumara Swamy, Mr. Ramulu Yadav, Ms. N. Jyothi and other leaders were present on this occasion. These leaders told that even after passage of 60 years after Independence Indian Women are not free. They said that Central and State Governments are responsible for this. They also told that although Govts make lofty claims of protecting women but in practice, they don’t take any steps. In providing security to women, the attitude of the governments has been non-serious.
The leaders of the Federation told that if a review is made at state level, it would be revealed that women in AP have many problems. They suffer from household violence and physical harassment. Such incidents are on the increase. Instead of taking steps for protecting women, governments are keeping quiet.
The leaders of the Federation demanded the Govt. to be serious in implementing 33% reservations for women. They told that protest would continue till adequate relief is provided to women by the Govt.
