AISA sweeps JNU students’ union polls

The All India Students’ Association (AISA) won all the four seats in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students’ union polls, defeating rivals Students Federation of India (SFI) and the Left Progressive Front (LPF).

Ashutosh Kumar, Anant Prakash Narayan and Chintu Kumari have been elected as the president, vice-president and general secretary respectively.

Shafqat Hussain Butt was elected to the post of joint secretary.

“We have worked on the students’ concerns for the whole year. Along with the campus issues, we will also fight for the issues plaguing the rest of the country,” Chintu Kumari, the newly-appointed general secretary told ANI here.
