The glittering trophy for the Airtel India-New Zealand Test and T20 Cricket Series was unveiled at an impressive function here this evening.
The trophy, designed by Frazer and Haws in silver with 24 karat gold plating, was unveiled by Bharti Airtel (Andhra Pradesh) CEO Sharlin Thayil.
He was flanked by the rival skippers, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ross Taylor. The two teams play two Tests, Hyderabad, beginning on August 23 and Bangalore from August 31 and two T20 engagements, at Visakhapatnam on September 8 and at Chennai three days later.
Meanwhile, Sharlin Thayil, said that they were tapping the youth segment on the association with cricket. Bharti Airtel has been awarded the series sponsorship rights by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for all international cricket matches to be played in India till 2013. UNI
