New Delhi : As part from the rivals in telecom companies, Reliance Jio started offering as ‘Republic Day 2018 offer’ Rs.98 pack for prepaid customers, 28-day validity with making it the cheapest recharge with month-long validity. Airtel has overhauled one of its budget prepaid recharge options with extra validity.
Airtel’s Rs 93 prepaid recharge will now offer 28 days of validity to users along with 1GB data in total. The plan also includes unlimited voice calls on local, STD and roaming along with 100 SMS per day free. However, the Rs 93 plan comes with a catch.
According to Gadget360 article, The Airtel Rs. 93 recharge gives customers ‘unlimited’ local and STD calls, free calls on roaming, 100 SMS messages per day, and 1GB of 4G/ 3G data for the entire 28-day validity period.
The ‘unlimited’ calls are limited to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week, same as other packs the telco offers; once the daily or weekly limits are exhausted customers will be charged at 10 paise per minute. Buyers can call a maximum of 100 unique numbers in a 7-day period, and if the number is exceeded, the call tariff will become 10 paise per minute for the remaining validity period.
The 28-day validity of the Airtel 93 rechrage represents a substantial increase over the 10-day validity that the pack came with till now. The rest of the details of the pack remain the same as before.
Airtel is matching the calling benefits Jio offers with its Rs. 93 pack, but falls short when it comes to bundled data. Since the Republic Day 2018 Offer went live, the Mukesh Ambani-promoted company is giving subscribers 2GB of 4G data at Rs. 98, up from 1GB. This is twice the high-speed data the country’s biggest operator is offering with its Rs. 93 pack. However, the bundled SMS messages with the Jio recharge are capped at just 300, while Airtel users will get 100 SMS messages per day, meaning 2,800 for the entire validity.
Earlier Airtel has revamped most of its plans to offer 1.4GB daily data to customers, which includes the Rs 199 prepaid recharge offer as well. Airtel’s Rs 399 plan was also revamped to increase the validity to 84 days and comes with 1GB daily data. However, the newer validity is again limited to Andhra, Telangana circles. Users in other circles will continue to see 70 days validity for the plan. Most recharge plans now come bundled with free unlimited voice calls for users.
