Airtel offers 3G services in Tuticorin

Chennai, March 13: Bharti Airtel, India’s largest telecommunications company, now offers 3G services here, after successful launch in Chennai, Coimbatore, Vellore and Hosur. Customers could enjoy multimedia services, high speed mobile broadband and internet access, video calls, mobile TV and live streaming at never before speeds.

According to a statement from Rajiv Rajgopal, Chief Executive Officer, Mobile Services, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Bharti Airtel, “Moblie customers can experience high-speed internet and data services, including mCommerce (mobile commerce) in 3G-ready handsets and a range of applications at affordable prices.” Airtel had seen over 70 per cent increase in data usage by customers in Chennai, Coimbatore, Vellore and Hosur after the introduction of 3G services.

Prevent ‘bill shock’

Airtel also introduces an initiative to help customers manage their 3G data usage and prevent ‘bill shock’ by offering data usage alerts. The company has also introduced a first of its kind ‘internet usage calculator’ that will help customers monitor and analyse their current internet data usage and choose a 3G plan accordingly.
