AirAsia apologizes for offensive in-flight article saying ‘they would never lose a plane’

Apr. 7 (ANI): Southeast Asia’s top budget carrier AirAsia is in hot water after its latest in-flight magazine carried an article boasting that its well-trained pilots would never lose a plane.

The article sparked anger on social media after an AirAsia passenger posted a photograph of the text on Twitter .

Following the uproar the carrier apologized for the mistake and withdrawn the magazine.

According to news.com.au, AirAsia Executive Chairman Kamarudin Meranun also expressed ‘deep regret and remorse’ over the article and said disciplinary action would be taken against the magazine’s editorial team.

He said that the latest issue of ‘travel 3Sixty’ magazine was printed before the Malaysia Airlines plane disappeared on March 8.

Kamarudin said the article was a monthly aviation column prepared well in advance by a retired pilot, who had worked for both AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines, the report added. (ANI)
