Air services resume after gap of 13 years

Salem, November 15:Commercial air services to Salem resumed today after a gap of 13 years with the operation of a Kingfisher Airlines flight from Chennai.

The flight, with 68 passengers on board, arrived here this afternoon and the passengers were received by state agriculture minister, Veeapandi S Arumugam.

In the return flight, 68 members of a women’s Self Help Group flew to Chennai, at the initiative of the minister.

The flight will depart from Chennai daily at 2.30 pm and arrive at Salem at 3.30 pm. The return flight will take off from Salem at 5.30 pm and reach Chennai at 6.30 pm.
