Air India ground staff dies after being sucked by aircraft’s engine

In a shocking incident, an Air India ground staffer was sucked into an aircraft engine parked at the Mumbai airport and subsequently died. The incident happened on Wednesday night at 8.45 pm.

The flight, AI 619, was scheduled to travel from Mumbai to Hyderabad. The staffer has been reportedly recognised as Subramaniam.

Speaking about the incident, Air India CMD Ashwani Lohani said, “We are deeply saddened and regret tragic incident at Mumbai airport. An Air India technician died in a mishap during pushback of flight AI 619, incident is being investigated. Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.”
