Delhi, October 06: Pilots and other crewmembers abroad an Air India flight had a huge scuffle after a pilot allegedly molested an airhostess. Air India officials are investigating the whole affair, and in the meanwhile, AI has suspended 4 employees thought to be involved in the brawl.
The flight was flying from Sharjah to Delhi and the shocked 107 passengers on board the flight witnessed the brawl first hand as crew members threw punches and hurled abuse at each other, in front of the passengers itself.
The fight got so out of hand that, once the pilot threatened to land the flight in Pakistan over which there were flying. Besides, this cockpit was also left unattended for some time.
The 24-year-old female crew member and a co-pilot both suffered bruises in the incident on Saturday and police have registered a case against the pilots for “outraging the modesty of a woman”, it said
“As there have been claims and counter-claims between the parties involved, the management has ordered an inquiry, which is still in progress. Further action will be decided based on the inquiry report.”
Delhi police were quoted as saying that a stewardess had sustained bruises and hand injuries and that her complaint was that she had been” abused, manhandled and assaulted in an undignified way”.
