New Delhi: Air India will celebrate International Day for Women on March 8 by operating flights with an all-women cockpit and cabin crew, a statement said on Tuesday.
The national carrier will operate a range of wide and narrow body aircraft in domestic and international sector with the help of female employees to salute woman power, an Air India statement said.
The airline would fly these specially organised flights scheduled by Amrita Sharan, Executive Director Integration and Industrial Relations and in charge of Crew Management, to all the USA cities it operates to — San Francisco, New York, Newark, Chicago and Washington — besides destinations like Milan, Frankfurt and Singapore.
The statement said the Air India would also organise a number of women-related events throughout its network to reiterate the airline’s constant endeavor to encourage women to have an equal standing in every sphere of the airline’s activities.(ANI)
