New Delhi, October 06: An Air India (AI) airhostess, who recently alleged molestation by two pilots in the cockpit, filed a complaint with the National Commission for Women (NCW) on Monday.
“I have come here as I think I will get justice. I want justice from the (AI) management as well as NCW for what has happened to me,” Komal Singh told reporters at the NCW office, after she met chairperson Girija Vyas.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is probing the incident as the scuffle between the pilots and airhostess was a breach of cockpit safety. The airhostess was allegedly molested after a scuffle when the Sharjah-Lucknow-Delhi flight IC-884 was in Pakistani airspace on Saturday.
The airline clarified that the committee had concluded that the cockpit was not left unmanned at any point during the flight. The committee said it had examined witnesses, including the crew.
An airline spokesperson said, “The management has taken the incident very seriously. Action will be taken against those held guilty on the basis of recommendations of the
report prepared by the committee.”
Singh had registered a first information report with the Delhi police, charging the two with molestation and assault. She had alleged that commander Ranbeer Arora and captain Aditya Chopra tried to molest her, and when she resisted, they pushed her out of the cockpit.
