Air Force Pilot Abhinandan will be released tomorrow, says Pak PM Imran Khan

Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman who was captured by Pakistan’s Army will be released tomorrow as a “goodwill gesture”, said Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan while speaking at the country’s parliament said, “Yesterday I tried to call Narendra Modi to say that we don’t want escalation. Our push for de-escalation doesn’t mean we are afraid, We have an Indian pilot. As a peace gesture, we will release him tomorrow.”

There has been an aerial engagement between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on Wednesday in which Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman landed across the Line Of Control after Indian fighter jet was shot down by Pakistan.

Earlier today Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had also said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is ready to speak to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on the phone to defuse tensions.
