AIPWA expresses concern over low female ratio

Hyderabad, April 1: All India Progressive Women’s Association in a National Executive Meet held at Ranchi on March 30 and 31 expressed its concern over low female ratio as per provisional population statistics.

According to General Secretary of the association Ms Meena Tiwari the ratio of 914:1000 is the lowest since independence. She said ‘this puts a question mark on Indian government’s claim of empowering women.’

AIPWA demanded that the centre and state governments take the responsibility of low female ratio and review the ratio year-wise and also strictly implement PNDT act.
