Hyderabad, April 22: The 2 day Executive Committee meeting of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) will be held here in Hyderabad on April 23 and 24 in which the elders and leaders of the community will discuss the important issues faced by the Indian Muslims and decide action plan to resolve such matters.
Maulana Syed Rabe Husni Nadvi president All India Muslim Personal Law Board will preside over. The meeting is likely to discuss at length issues like controversial Wakf Amendment Bill 2010, the Direct Tax Code Bill, the autonomy of Madrasas, Right to Education Act, Darul Qaza, child adoption, and maintenance for divorced women. Incharge secretary AIMPLB, Abdul Raheem Quraishi told this during a press conference.
He told that it was an honor for Hyderabad that a meeting for the establishment of Muslim Personal Law board was also held here in 1973 and the executive meeting of the board was again held here in 2002 and it is the second time that the board executive meeting is being held here.
The Executive Committee of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) is expected to decide move the Supreme Court with five more appeals against the Allahabad High Court judgement on Babri Masjid title issue in Ayodhya. Earlier four appeals have been filed before the Supreme Court. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board expects the expenses for contesting the Allahabad High Court verdict in the Babri Masjid title suit to run into Rs. 10 to Rs. 12 crore approximately. Mr. Quraishi expressed hope that Muslims particularly the affluent sections would cooperate with board for this expenditure”.
The 51-member policy-making executive committee meeting will be held at Jamia Islamia Dar-ul-Uloom.
