AIMMO demands implementation of justice Mishra -Sachar reports

All India Muslim Minority Organization (AIMMO) has demanded that the government take immediate steps to implement Justice Ranganath Mishra Commission report, Justice Sachar Committee recommendation and implementation of 15-point program of Dr Manmohan Singh.

It also demanded protection of the Sate Wakf properties by setting up a Wakf Commissionerate and early appointment of a new chairman for the Wakf Board as the post remained vacant.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, M.A. Siddiqui, former State secretary of the TDP, said the party has decided to implead itself in the case filed by the State government in the Supreme Curt on 4 per cent reservation to Muslims. He pointed out to the recent remarks of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu that the Congress government was hoodwinking the minorities and not allotting sufficient funds for their welfare. He alleged that even the nominal allocation earmarked for the minorities in last year’s budget has not been spent fully.

Syed Muktar Hussain, chairman, AIMMO, demanded that AP State Haj committee enhance grant-in-aid to the Mecca pilgrims, adequate funds for ‘centre for educational development for minorities’, assistance to Muslim Divorce, Training, employment, placement scheme to backward Muslims by implementing schemes of financial corporation.

Mohd. Nawab, vice-chairman, AIMMO, demanded the government to take initiative on the Centre’s special importance for development of minorities in the 12th five year plan. He also demanded that the State government provide 12 per cent reservations for welfare of Muslims in employment sector.
