Jalna: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MLA Imtiyaz Jaleel has condemned the recent terror attack at Uri in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 18 Army personnel were killed.
“A tough reply should be given to Pakistan for carrying out terror activities,” Jaleel, who represents, Central Aurangabad, in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, said last night at a rally here.
Targeting the Congress-NCP for “neglecting” the problems of the minority community, Jaleel said Congress is trying to woo Muslims in view of the local bodies polls.
Congress-NCP ruled Maharashtra for 15 years between 1999-2014.
The legislator also hit out at NCP supremo Sharad Pawar over his accusation that the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) was terrorising Muslim youths on mere suspicion of being associated with outfits like ISIS.
He claimed that during the Congress-NCP rule in Maharashtra, innocent Muslims youths had been arrested and jailed. “Why didn’t Pawar raise this question (at that time)?,” he asked.
Jaleel also condemned the gang-rape of a minor girl in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra.
“During the last nine months, 107 rapes against Dalit women were reported in Maharashtra,” the MLA claimed.
