Elaborate arrangements are being made for the grand “Iftar” to be hosted by the All India Minorities Forum in Hyderabad on July 5.
All India Minorities Forum Secretary and Convener Jabir Patel said the Iftar is likely to have the participation of representatives of all political parties, countries, socio-religious groups, NGOs, media and all sections of the society. Eminent political personalities, including Union Home Minister Dr Rajnath Singh are likely to attend the Iftar Dinner. For the first ever, the Chief Ministers of both, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, K Chandrasekhar Rao and Nara Chandrababu Naidu too will be seen on the same platform during Iftar dinner.
The AIMF has invited eminent personalities from all walks of life to convey that the holy month of Ramzan gives the message of peace, brotherhood and understanding towards each other. It breaks all barriers and brings people closer to each other. For a few minutes during Iftar time, politicians and others set aside their ideologies and practice the principles of peace and brotherhood.
In addition to the political personalities, the Governors of different States are also likely to participate in the Iftar Dinner and a few of them have already confirmed their participation. They include His/Her Excellencies Shri Ram Naresh Yadav (Madhya Pradesh), Shri Aziz Qureshi (Uttarakhand), Sheila Dixit (Kerela) among others. The Chief Ministers of many States will also participate in the event. Former Union Ministers Rahman Khan and Veerappa Moily, Lok Sabha MPs Moulana Asrarul Haque, Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreyya and a few other dignitaries have also confirmed their participation.
The AIMF dinner will also have the participation of Ambassadors of many countries. For most of them, this will be the first visit to Hyderabad after the formation of Telangana State. A few of them have also scheduled their official meetings with the representatives of Telangana on later dates.
According to AIMF Secretary and Convener Jaber Patel, this year’s Iftar Dinner will be different in many ways. It will bring people from different strata of society on one platform. Unlike common perception that Iftar parties are mere social get-togethers, our Iftar Dinner will strongly convey the message of love and peace and communal harmony in the country.
