Chandigarh: Haryana Agriculture Minister Om Prakash Dhankar today said the state government’s aim was to make available one litre of milk to every person.
At present, only two crore litre milk is available for a population of 2.5 crore, the Minister said here after a meeting with High Commissioner of Australia, Patrick Suckling, as per an official release.
“The state government’s aim is to make available one litre of milk to every person,” he said.
Dhankar said that it was being considered to register a brand of milk on the lines of Australian brand a2 Milk, which offers high-quality milk.
Terming his meeting with the High Commissioner as ‘fruitful’, Dhankar said that techniques of dairy, irrigation, horticulture, warehousing and packaging were discussed.
The Haryana government and officers from Australia would formulate a plan in this regard. All countries are keeping an eye on the fast-growing economy of India and want to spread their markets in the country, he added.
The Minister said that the true extent of crop damage due to Whitefly attack would be found out only after budding of cotton crop.
The Girdawari work would continue till mid-October, he said.
