The AIIMS coordination committee (ACC) an amalgam of various social, political, religious and business organisations spearheading the campaign for the establishment of the premier medical institute in Jammu has today warned the ruling alliance partner BJP of dire consequences if it fails to fulfill its commitment.
“We urge the BJP to fulfill its written commitment on AIIMS within the stipulated period” said Mohinder Singh Katoch, working president Jammu Province Peoples Front (JPPF) and member ACC.
He said that any delay in the matter on the part of the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir and at the Centre will lose all of its credibility.
“BJP will have to pay a very heavy price in case it failed to implement its written commitment in letter and spirit within the stipulated period” he said.
He said that the people of Jammu region were anxiously waiting for the day when the Centre would announce the promised AIIMS for the “neglected and underdeveloped Jammu region”.
He said that the ACC accepted in good faith the written assurance given to it on June 18 by two BJP ministers in the J&K government saying that the party will obtain positive order on the issue latest by July 20.
“Now is the turn of the BJP to come up to the expectations of people of Jammu region” he said.
