New Delhi [India]: Sakshi Tanwar walked the ramp for designer Anju Modi on Day three of the ongoing Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2017.
The 44-year-old oozed confidence as she sashayed down the runway in a stunning ensemble.
“The confidence came as I have done theatre way back in college and school. So even if you cannot see anybody, you know you are connected to people. Moreover, I was wearing such lovely clothes and I had got compliments even before I stepped on the ramp. So I knew everything was going as per the plan,” said the ‘ Dangal’ actress, post-event.
Talking about her muse, Anju said, “I think Sakshi and I mentally blend very well; the kind of image she has and the kind of clothes I do. So she is the perfect muse for me.”
Unearthing some of the hidden treasures of textile heritage, Anju presented an architecture-inspired collection that channeled in the core tenants of the label – timeless, vintage, handcraft, organic.
A juxtaposition of fluid floral motifs and organic elements with structural silhouettes and design details of the minarets, Anju Modi’s ‘Neelambar’ was an outtake of rich textile legacy; an attempt to weave the traditional knowledge and skills of master craftsmen with threads of modernity. (ANI)
