New Delhi [India]: The national capital, yesterday, saw a small glimpse of the Indonesian Fashion at the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2017, courtsey designer Novita Yunus.

NY, by Yunus, is a premium brand of Batik Chic, created under the framework of 2013 Indonesia Fashion Forward program of Jakarta Fashion Week 2014.

Her collection, titled ‘Bumi-Langit,’ prepared for Amazon India Fashion Week 2017, is inspired by the idea of balancing colour palettes of the autumn leaves and cold winter sky.

Speaking on the same to the media here, Novita said, “My concept is Bumi-Langit. It’s an Indonesian language, meaning the sky and the Earth. Sky symbolizes the sun and the earth symbolises the eco-print I use, using the leaf material from Indonesia.”

The collection has various materials and techniques, such as eco-print process, Batik Remakan, Gurut Handwoven and embroidered clothes.

The earth and sky colours are expressed in varieties of kaftans, palazzos, traditional embroidered kebayas and other fashion items, combining ochre, dark chocolate, light brown, olive green for earth tone with dark blue and silver for sky shade.

With the dresses, the models carried some matching accessories to add on to the collection and they were: clutches, fringed tote bags, Surya Majapahit inspired gold plated necklaces, brooches and buckled belts. Their looks were completed with Kalimantan rattan sandals. (ANI)
