AICC Women Wing to Bat for Woman CM, If Cong Wins

Hyderabad: AICC Women’s wing chairperson Susmitha Dev on Thursday said that there was a possibility of a woman Congress leader becoming the chief minister of the state if the party came into power after the Assembly elections.

Addressing media persons in the city, she said that they would urge party president Rahul Gandhi to make a woman Congress leader as the next CM of Telangana state. She alleged that the Telangana government led by CM KCR had cheated the OU students who have fought for the formation of the Telangana state. She said that there was neither a woman in the state cabinet nor there was a Woman’s commission in the State. She alleged that the women of the state were facing a lot of injustice in the state.
(This move is likely to cause total disappointment to many of the Congress leaders who are aspiring to become Chief Minister, in case the party wins the elections. TPCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy, CLP leader in the dissolved Assembly K Jana Reddy, former Union Minister Sarve Satyanarayana, former PCC Chief Dr. Ponnala Laxmaiah , Senior congress leader and former M P, Mallu Ravi and TPCC Working President Mallu Bhattivikramarka are only a few among them).
