New Delhi: Enforcement Directorate (ED) is stopping Congress leaders from meeting arrested Karnataka leader DK Shivakumar. According to India Today TV Ahmed Patel who had gone to meet DK Shivakumar at the ED’s office, along with a few other leaders of the Congress, was not allowed to do so.
A senior ED officer clarified that the court has given permission to the lawyers of DK Shivakumar to meet him while he is in the custody, hence they can’t allow anyone to meet him except the lawyers.
Targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ahmed Patel had tweeted: “It is most unfortunate that when the economy is in doldrums the only priority of this government is intimidating the opposition.”
Enforcement Directorate has kept DK Shivakumar in its custody till September 13 in connection with the probe in a money-laundering case.
After being arrested on September 3, DK Shivakumar had tweeted, “Political Vendetta has become more stronger than the law in this country”
He had also tweeted: “I congratulate my BJP friends for finally being successful in their mission of arresting me. The IT and ED cases against me are politically motivated and I am a victim of BJP’s politics of vengeance and vendetta.”
