Tehran, February 11: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad lashed out at US President Barack Obama on Thursday, saying his American counterpart was “missing opportunities” and serving the interests of Israel.
“Unfortunately, the hope for change (in US policies) is in the process of rapidly changing to despair,” he said.
“He (Obama) is missing opportunities and is not acting correctly,” Ahmadinejad told a huge crowd gathered in a central Tehran square for the 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution.
“He is going in a way which is against his own interests and the interests of the American people and which is in line with the Zionists’ will,” the president said.
“We don’t want those to turn out to be right who said he has come just to restore America’s image.”
“They (Americans) want to dominate our region but the Iranian people will never let them do that,” he said.
