Beirut, March 30: Future Movement secretary-general Ahmad Hariri said Monday his movement was as concerned about the security situation in Syria as the security situation in Lebanon. “I urge media outlets to refrain from involving Lebanon in what is happening in Syria because Lebanon’s stability stems from Syria’s stability,” Hariri said.“We consider that Syria is a state whose stability concerns us. The Syrian people do not need a custodian since they are adults and I call on all parties to refrain from provocations,” Hariri added.
He questioned motives behind media reports over the departure of six shipments carrying weapons from the Tripoli harbor to unload on Syrian shores.“What are we trying to do as Lebanese when we accuse a city like Tripoli, which suffered from terrorism, [of exporting it]?” Hariri asked.
