Ayodhya: As several states in the country are disputed between cow slaughter and beef ban and are busy in sniffing beef in biryani, the religious city of Ayodhya has set an example of communal harmony and social cohesion.
In the temple town ‘Ayodhya’ where slaughtering and sale of meat is banned throughout the year, Muslims are allowed to sacrifice goats and sheep to celebrate the Eid-ul-Adha, Feast of the Sacrifice with peace.
There was no problem since they never faced any opposition regarding qurbani from the Hindu community.
The bonhomie between the two communities maintaining peace and harmony among them, the temple town’s example is worth quoting and set an example to the nation, where meat ban has become an intense issue.
“Everything happens with a great understanding between the two communities,” a civic official was quoted as saying to TOI.
“Amid all the controversies over meat and beef, the temple town presents the best example of religious tolerance and respect to religious sentiments of the other community,” he adds
