Agitations cannot solve unemployment problem: CM

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said his government was prepared to discuss with anyone about the unemployment issue; but at the same cautioned that there was no question of yielding to any pressure tactics.

Intervening in the Assembly on Tuesday during question  hour as the BJP members created a ruckus and disturbed the proceedings in the House regarding the unemployment issue on which the party had moved an adjournment motion, the Chief Minister reminded them that any problem could be resolved amicably by discussions. They were ready to discuss any issue, he observed.

Referring to the Chalo Assembly call given by the BJP and the agitation by the ABVP and BJYM members outside the Assembly and trying to create law and order problem, the Chief Minister said only those who fail to make their voice heard in the Assembly were resorting to such agitations. Recalling such agitations in the past, he pointed out that the governments were compelled to impose prohibitory orders to maintain law and order and peace. As part of this process, the police also resort to arrests, he explained. He hoped the protesting BJP members would cooperate and allow the proceedings in the House to continue. However, not satisfied with the Chief Minister’s explanation, the BJP members staged a walkout from the House. (NSS)
