Correcting the criminal neglect suffered by the historical Qutub Shahi Tombs during the last two centuries, Agha Khan Trust for Culture, world’s leading conservation body, has succeeded in restoring their lost glory. There are 72 monuments in the Qutub Shahi Heritage Park, spread over 108 acres. The restoration works are being carried out by a multi-disciplinary team of conservation architects, engineers and historians. The AKTC team has rebuilt the entire western wall of the Badi Baoli which collapsed in October 2013. The decorative stucco plaster work is restored on the Jamshed Quli Qutub Shah’s tomb. AKTC project Director Ratesh Nanda told that the first phase of the project will be completed by next year.
