New Delhi, May 20: Delhi Home Secretary G S Patnaik today called on Lt Governor Tejindra Khanna and discussed the law and order situation in the capital with him.
The meeting, though described as a routine affair, assumes significance in the wake of clearance of a file pertaining to mercy petition of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru by Delhi government.
Yesterday, Delhi Government had sent the file on Guru to Khanna, unambiguously backing the capital punishment for the convict but at the same time asking the Centre to take care of the law and order situation while carrying out the execution here.
Sources said the issue figured in the meeting between Khanna and Patnaik
